Maa Kalaratri is worshipped on the seventh day of Navratri. She is the fiercest and most terrifying form of Maa Durga, known as the destroyer of darkness and ignorance. Despite her fearsome appearance, she always grants auspicious results to her devotees, earning her the name 'Shubhankari'.

Maa Kalaratri's complexion is as dark as a moonless night. She rides a donkey and has four arms. Her right hands are in Abhaya (protecting) and Varada (boon-giving) mudras, while her left hands hold a thunderbolt and a scimitar.
She has three eyes that emit lightning, and flames appear from her nostrils when she breathes. She manifested to destroy the demons Shumbha and Nishumbha. Her fierce form reminds us that divine protection sometimes requires the absolute destruction of negativity.
Worshipping Maa Kalaratri on Saptami activates the Sahasrara Chakra (Crown Chakra).
She destroys all demonic entities, ghosts, evil spirits, and negative energies just by her presence. Devotees worship her to eliminate fear, overcome planetary afflictions (especially Saturn/Shani), and attain sudden, immense spiritual liberation.
Eliminates all kinds of fear, phobias, and anxiety.
Destroys black magic, evil eyes, and negative entities.
Always brings auspicious (Shubh) results to true devotees.
Maa Kalaratri Puja is often performed at night (Nisha Puja) by strict practitioners. It involves intense focus and the offering of Jaggery.
Chanting this mantra removes all planetary doshas, fear of enemies, and grants ultimate courage and victory.

Maa Kalaratri is offered Jaggery (Gud) as Bhog. Offering Jaggery and later distributing it to Brahmins is believed to free the devotee from sudden pains, grief, and unexpected obstacles.
Wearing Grey on the seventh day of Navratri symbolizes the destruction of evil, deep transformation, and the balancing of extreme energies, perfectly mirroring Maa Kalaratri's nature.
The Day 7 Vrat requires strict discipline. Devotees fast to rid themselves of negative traits, anger, and ego. Spiritual seekers (Sadhaks) often stay awake during the night of Saptami for intense meditation.
Opens the crown chakra for ultimate cosmic connection.
Burns away the ego and ignorance completely.
Creates an impenetrable aura against dark forces.
The fierce, destructive energy of Maa Kalaratri is highly synchronized with the Shatru-Vinash (enemy destruction) aspect of Maa Baglamukhi.
On Saptami, specialized night Havans (Nisha Anushthan) are often performed at Nalkheda to completely neutralize powerful hidden enemies, black magic, and severe legal blockages.
