The "South" Direction Myth
Many Google articles say "Face South for Goddess". This is dangerous advice. South is for "Smashan Sadhana" (Graveyard Rituals). For a happy family home (Grihastha), you must ALWAYS face East or North while praying.
1. Where should the Mother sit?
According to Vastu Shastra and Agama Vidya, the placement of the idol determines the "Flow" of energy in the house.
Facing East (The Best)
Placement: Place the Idol on the West wall, so IT faces East (and You face West) OR Place it on the East wall so YOU face East.
Benefit: East is the direction of the Rising Sun (Indra). It brings Knowledge, Clarity, and New Beginnings. For students and career growth, this is mandatory.
Facing North (For Wealth)
Placement: Place the Idol on the South wall, so IT faces North (and You face South? No, you sit facing North).
Benefit: North is the direction of Kubera. If your goal is strictly Business Growth, Loan Recovery, or Debt Removal, sit facing North.
2. Designing the Perfect "Sthapan" (Altar)
Do not just keep a photo on a dusty shelf. You are inviting a Queen. Create a Throne.
The 4-Step Setup
- The Base (Asana): Spread a Yellow Silk Cloth (Reshmi Vastra) on a wooden plank. Never place directly on metal or glass.
- The Yantra: Place the Baglamukhi Yantra (Copper or Gold plated) on a small plate. It is the "Machine" that radiates energy.
- The Photo/Idol: Place the Picture behind the Yantra. The Yantra attracts the energy; the Photo gives it a face for your devotion.
- The Light (Deepak): The Lamp (Diya) must be on YOUR Right side (Deity's Left). Use a brass lamp with Ghee or Mustard Oil.
Secret Tip: Keep 2 pieces of Dried Turmeric (Sabut Haldi) near the deity's feet permanently. Replace them yearly.
3. Room-by-Room Placement Guide
| Location | Allowed? | Purpose/Note |
|---|---|---|
| Pooja Room | YES | Ideal. Ensure it is in the NE (Ishan) corner of the house. |
| Living Room | YES | Good for general protection. Keep on a high shelf, not visible to every guest entering. |
| Bedroom | NO | Strictly Prohibited. Baglamukhi energy is "High Voltage". It disturbs sleep and marital life (Rati action). |
| Kitchen | Avoid | Fire element is too high. Avoid unless you have no other space. |
| Office/Shop | YES | Excellent. Place behind your seat (so She watches your back) or in front (so you see Her). |
4. Using the Yantra as a "Spiritual CCTV"
Apart from the Mandir, you can hide the Yantra in specific spots to block negative entry.
- Main Door (Top Center): Paste a Copper Yantra facing OUTWARDS. This stops "Evil Eye" (Nazar) from entering the house.
- South-West Corner (Nairitya): If you have court case files or property papers, keep them in this corner with a small Baglamukhi Yantra on top.
5. Essential Questions
Exception: Avoid keeping Her next to Ugra Kali or Ugra Narasimha in a home mandir. That combination creates too much heat for a family.
